ROSHN Group, a PIF GIGA project and Saudi Arabia’s leading real estate developer, today announced the signing of an MoU with Ehsan National Platform for Charitable Work, a product of the Saudi Data and AI Authority (SDAIA) and the leading platform focusing on charitable giving in the Kingdom.

The MoU will see YUHYEEK programme from ROSHN Group use its market-leading expertise in the design, construction, and maintenance of high-quality real estate to sponsor and support the development of community centres, as well as undertake the restoration, repair, and maintenance of care homes, social housing, and private residences. Under the terms of the memorandum ROSHN Group will also collaborate with Ehsan on community initiatives that support disadvantaged groups, including people with disabilities and the underprivileged, as well as explore future cooperation across Ehsan’s wider range of activity – including the fields of rescue relief, education, sustainability, art, culture, healthcare, and sports.

“Today’s signing represents another important step for our YUHYEEK social responsibility programme, through which we are channelling the expertise of ROSHN Group into a wide range of community-focused initiatives in the Kingdom,” said Ghada Alrumayan, Group Chief Marketing and Communications Officer at ROSHN. “Building real communities is central to ROSHN Group’s approach to development, and this agreement with Ehsan will allow us to extend our community-building efforts beyond ROSHN real estate and into wider society.”

In joining forces with Ehsan, ROSHN adds further momentum to its drive to sponsor, restore and maintain the Kingdom’s housing stock. In 2022, the Group launched its social responsibility programme YUHYEEK and took role in supporting multiple initiatives and programs in the fields of disability, health and wellness, sports, environment and arts, where a fleet of ‘YUHYEEK ambassadors’ took role in delivering these initiatives to beneficiaries in Riyadh and Jeddah.

Both the YUHYEEK Social Responsibility Programme and ROSHN’s new MoU with Ehsan form part of ROSHN Group’s broader commitment to enhancing the quality of life of Saudi citizens. Over the past two years ROSHN has sponsored a rich array of cultural, entertainment and sports activities in the Kingdom, including LIV Golf, ROSHN Saudi League, Riyadh Season, F1, Riyadh Marathon, and the Jeddah Marathon. The Group is also a significant contributor to the Saudi Green Initiative through the ambitious tree and shrub planting scheme being deployed across its communities, and has backed other significant social initiatives, such as the Zahra Breast Cancer Association.

ROSHN’s investment in community development and commitment to raising the quality of life for all Saudis makes it a perfect match for Ehsan. The platform, established in 2020, is monitored by a committee of 12 government agencies with a mandate to raise the contribution of the non-profit sector to the economy, promote the values of national belonging, harness the power of government agencies in humanitarian work, increase the transparency and sustainability of the charitable sector, and activate the social responsibility role of the private sector. Throughout the years, Ehsan has received more than SR3 billion donor operations and distributed financial aid among more than 4.8 million beneficiaries.

“Through this community memorandum, we hope to bring about impactful transformation and development in Saudi society,” said Ibrahim Alhusaini, Chief Executive Officer of Ehsan, in thanking ROSHN Group for its support and contribution. “This is an opportunity to contribute to societal transformation focused on a sense of social responsibility, in line with Vision 2030. Through cooperation with partners like ROSHN Group, we can continue our work to serve the people of the Kingdom."
